Designing our driftwood-inspired display blocks
Those of you who've been into the shop recently may have noticed our new display. Our jewellery is now perched on smooth wooden blocks scattered through our cabinets like the driftwood and pebbles that inspired them. David wanted to create a jewellery display that was sympathetic to the designs. Wood was a natural choice as the light sun-bleached colour contrasts well with all shades of metal.
The wooden blocks are shaped and curved to mimic the smooth, soft forms found in driftwood.
David designed a range of display blocks with a variety of shapes, heights and sizes designed to display our earrings, rings and necklaces.
A woodworker carved the display blocks from white maple and used a specially made machine to create the very smooth, worn look that David wanted to achieve.
We're delighted with the result and our collection of blocks is steadily growing...
